On a recent episode of the Sustainability Podcast, I spoke with Ralph Rio from ARC Advisory Group. Even with all these powerful tools, there are challenges in the engineering world. Ralph mentioned that there aren't enough engineers, especially in places like the US and Europe. This has led to more work being done in countries like India, which produces a lot of engineers every year.
To deal with these challenges, there's a focus on making engineering work faster and better. Artificial intelligence (AI) is being used in design software to automate many tasks. Ralph gave an example of how software with AI can design a part much faster than before.
What's Next in Engineering?
When asked about the future, Ralph thinks there will be more automation in designing things. This will be done using AI, new construction methods, and the continued use of digital twins.
